Qualidade do toque afetivo materno e resposta da criança na interação diádica

Vários estudos têm sublinhado a importância da natureza do toque afetivo materno, evidenciando que diferentes tipos de toque estão associados a efeitos distintos no comportamento e na resposta emocional da criança. Assim, o presente estudo analisou as relações entre a qualidade do Toque Afetivo materno e a Resposta de Afeto da criança ao toque durante a interação diádica, bem como a Disponibilidade Emocional e fatores de risco sociofamiliar. Participaram 20 mães e os seus filhos(as), entre os dois e os cinco anos, em situação de risco psicossocial. Foram utilizadas as medidas Family Risks and Strengths Profile, Caregiver-Child Affective Touch Assessment – Observational Measure, Caregiver-Child Affective Touch Assessment – Child’s Response Version – Observational Measure e a Emotional Availability Scale. Os resultados revelaram associações entre a valência do toque materno e a resposta da criança, sendo os toques negativos associados a respostas afetivas negativas e a menor disponibilidade emocional materna. Toques neutros associaram-se a níveis reduzidos de disponibilidade emocional infantil. Verificou-se ainda uma associação entre a acumulação de fatores de risco e menor responsividade infantil. Estes dados sublinham o papel do toque afetivo como indicador relevante da qualidade da interação diádica, com implicações significativas para a intervenção precoce.
Several studies have highlighted the importance of the nature of maternal affective touch, showing that different types of touch are associated with different effects on the child's behaviour and emotional response. This study therefore analysed the relationship between the quality of maternal affectionate touch and the child's affective response during dyadic interaction, as well as emotional availability and socio-familial risk factors. Twenty mothers and their children, aged between two and five, at psychosocial risk, took part. The Family Risks and Strengths Profile, Caregiver-Child Affective Touch Assessment –Observational Measure, Caregiver-Child Affective Touch Assessment – Child’s Response Version – Observational Measure and the Emotional Availability Scale were used. The results revealed associations between the valence of maternal touch and the child's response, with negative touch being associated with negative affective responses and lower maternal emotional availability. Neutral touches were associated with reduced levels of child emotional availability. There was also an association between the accumulation of risk factors and lower infant responsiveness. These data emphasise the role of affective touch as a relevant indicator of the quality of dyadic interaction, with significant implications for early intervention.
