About

Family Health & Illness (SF&D, Saúde Familiar & Doença) is a research group focused on the study of Individual and Family Psychological Processes in Health and Illness. This group aims to understand the psychosocial and psychophysiological impact of chronic diseases on patients and their caregivers/relatives; the neuropsychophysiological impact of stress on vulnerable groups, including traumatic stress and post-traumatic growth; the promotion of individual/family health, in particular healthy lifestyles in clinical and non-clinical populations, in order to promote quality of life and well-being, including interprofessional education on health, integrated healthcare, and primary and hospital care, as well as integrative psychology, particularly the use of complementary therapies in health psychology.
