About

The Eating Disorders Study Group (GEPA, Grupo de Estudos das Perturbações Alimentares) aims to develop research in order to better understand anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating and obesity, using such knowledge to develop better treatments.

GEPA is integrated in the Psychotherapy and Psychopathology Research Unit, which is part of the Psychology Research Center (CIPsi) at the School of Psychology (EPsi) of the University of Minho. Its main goal is to create and disseminate knowledge in order to understand, prevent and treat eating disorders through clinical advising, professional training, and research. In addition to the research activities, GEPA's members provide information and help people with eating disorders to find treatment through the Psychology Service of the University of Minho.
