Talk | Dr. Fernando Maestú | “The connectome model for understanding the functional organization of the normal and pathological brain”

Anfiteatro EPsi |

We invite the entire academic community to attend the lecture "The connectome model for understanding the functional organization of the normal and pathological brain," presented by Dr. Fernando Maestú, on March 15th, at 12 p.m., at the EPsi Amphitheater.

Bio
Fernando Maestú is Full Professor in Cognitive Neuroscience in the Department of Experimental Psychology of the Complutense University of Madrid, interested in the study of human memory and forgetting. For more than 20 years he has use magnetoencephalography (MEG) to unravel the electrophysiological underpinnings of these phenomena, both in healthy people and in patients suffering acquired or progressive brain damage. His major contribution relates to the description of changes in the brain functional connectivity profiles of people in early and even preclinical stages of dementia. He has also contributed to the understanding of plasticity phenomena after brain damage.
